Netball Australia

On Monday we were very fortunate to be one of only two primary schools on the North West coast to have a visit from Netball Australia. All our netball girls had the opportunity to get their hands on the Netball World Cup, which is currently on a National Tour prior to the World Titles. (Being held in Sydney from August 7-16)

The girls were able to have their photo taken with the trophy and mascot Nettie, as well as write personal postcard messages to the Diamonds Players.

Mrs Joanne Ahearne also kindly took time off from her SBSC duties to run an enjoying mini-clinic for the girls.

The girls thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon!

Special thanks to Mrs Lisa Snell, for arranging the visit. Thanks also to Shane, from Netball Tasmania, and Claire and Zoe from Netball Australia.

For further details about the World Cup, visit the Netball Australia Website.

Junior Joey's Coin Line

Many thanks to all the families who sent along money for our Junior Joeys Coin Line on the last day of Term 1. Due to poor weather the Coin Line was unable to be held outside. The Junior Joeys were kept busy organising classes in the KidsMatter space, measuring lines and counting money. A total of $669.95 was raised for CARITAS.
